How do you wash on the GR20?

Refuges on the GR20 often have showers, which are usually cold except in rare cases. Towels or flannels can be used with a little water for a quick clean-up. Some hikers choose to heat a little water on a gas cooker to wash themselves, although this requires more effort and equipment. For a quick, water-free solution, using wet wipes can be handy. It's important to note that, even with the use of biodegradable soaps, washing in natural waterways such as streams or mountain lakes is not recommended to avoid pollution. Respect for the environment is paramount.

What are the refuges like on the GR20?

Most of the refuges on the GR20 are fairly old and of limited capacity. They are often built of granite stone. To accommodate the large number of hikers who cannot stay in the dormitories, bivouac areas are set up nearby. It should be noted that the sanitary facilities in some refuges are not always adequate during busy periods on the GR20.

Can I bring my own tent?

Yes, it is quite possible to sleep in your own tent on the GR20. This means carrying it with you throughout the trek, which can significantly increase the weight of your rucksack. The weight of your tent is therefore an important factor to consider. You should also make sure that your tent is adapted to the variable and sometimes difficult weather conditions of the Corsican mountains. It's important to note that wild camping is prohibited outside the areas designated by the Corsican Regional Nature Park.

What does the word GR20 mean?

The acronym GR20 stands for "Grande Randonnée numéro 20". So the GR20 is the twentieth long-distance hiking trail. Prior to 1970, Corsica was effectively department number 20 in France, which coincides with the number assigned to this trail in the list of 370 long-distance hiking trails.

Book online

If you prefer to make your booking by post, you can download our online booking form and send it to us by post.

By telephone

You can contact us on 04 95 50 72 75 to book directly by telephone. We will advise you on availability and prices. A summary e-mail with a secure link for payment by credit card will be sent to you.

Groups

If you are booking with more than one person, please provide us with all the names and details of all participants, as well as the name of the person in charge of the file to whom we will send correspondence. For group bookings, if you wish to receive several invoices, please open several dossiers, as only one invoice in the name of the person responsible will be issued per dossier.

Booking fee

A booking fee of €5 per person applies to each person registered.

Payment

Deposit

More than 30 days before departure: 30% of the total cost of the holiday. The balance must be paid 30 days before departure.
Less than 30 days before departure: Please pay the full amount.
Less than 8 days before departure: Payment only by credit card.

You are responsible for bank transfer charges. Please enclose the bank transfer order with your enrolment form.

Confirmation

On receipt of your order and payment, an agent will confirm your booking. You will receive confirmation of your registration by e-mail within 48 working hours for a guided holiday and within 72 working hours for a self guided holiday.

You will then have access to your customer area, where you can :

Follow the various stages in the processing of your booking
Download all your documents (confirmation, invoice, insurance policy, etc.)
Prepare for your departure by consulting your travel documents online: technical file, list of accommodation, etc.

Balance

The balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the date of departure, without any reminder from us. Any holiday not paid within this period may be cancelled without reminder, in which case the deposit will be retained by CORSICA AVENTURE.

Convocation

As soon as you have paid the balance, you will receive your convocation indicating your meeting place as well as the necessary contacts.
