Bastia
Your stay begins in Bastia, a town focussed around the port. Bastia has a vibrant old town, its closeness to Italy highlights its distinct Genoese feel and you will discover a rich Baroque heritage. On its heights, the village of Cardo, invites you for a short hike upon arrival.
Bastia to Barcaggio
Transfer to the village of Macinaggio, starting point of your coastal hike on the customs officers' path. This trail will allow you to admire the reserve of the Finocchiarola Islands, the shattered Genoese tower of Santa Maria as well as many beaches, inhabitted by the odd roaming cow. The beaches are wild, enticing you for a swim, before reaching the northernmost village of Corsica, Barcaggio.
Barcaggio to Centuri
Departing from Barcaggio, the trail runs alongside the cliffs that overhang the coastline, before heading off through the maquis. It is a wild and authentic landscape now protected by the Marine National Park and is the largest in France. Take a stop at the Tollare Tower and the Semaphore of Monte Grossu before reaching the sleepy harbour of Centuri. This fishing village, nestled in the heart of a small creek, offers a unique resting place.
