
From Bastia to Saint Florent
On your first day on the GT20, you'll discover Cap Corse. You'll drive along the coast to Macinaggio, then climb to the Serra pass (366 m), famous for the Mattei mill. This pass marks the transition to the western side of Cap Corse. A balcony route, between picturesque villages and winding roads, takes you all the way to Saint-Florent, with its spectacular scenery.
From Saint Florent to Calvi
From Saint-Florent, you cross the Agriates to the Col de Vezzu (311 m). After a winding descent, the route follows a secondary road through the maquis. You climb towards Novella and the Col de Croce (511 m), then the Col de San Colombano, which marks the entrance to the Balagne region. A panoramic descent takes you to Belgodère, before discovering Feliceto, Muro and Cateri. You will leave the GT20 at Montemaggiore to reach Calvi, where you will spend the night.
From Calvi to Porto
From Calvi, follow the main road for around ten kilometres before climbing the Marsolinu pass (443 m). A quick descent leads to the Fango valley, with a possible diversions to Galéria. The Col de Palmarella (408 m) offers spectacular views over the Gulf of Girolata. You'll then enjoy panoramic views over the Scandola reserve and Girolata before reaching Porto, your destination for the day.
From Porto to Corte
An intense day awaits you as you climb the island's highest road pass! The route climbs through the Spelunca gorges to Evisa, where you can sample a local chestnut speciality. It's only a dozen kilometres to the Vergio pass (1,477 m). The 35-kilometre descent takes you through the forest and gorges of the Scala di Santa Regina. A final 300 metre climb will take you to Corte, the destination of this stage.
From Corte to Zicavo
Departing from Corte, this ‘mountain’ day will take you up the Verde pass (1,289 m) and two secondary passes: Granaje (723 m) and Vezzani (809 m). With a vertical drop of almost 2,500 metres, the route passes through pine forests, spectacular gorges and picturesque villages. At Zicavo, you begin the ascent to the Col de la Vaccia. The stage ends at the hostel, two kilometres before the Zicavo pass.
From Zicavo to Bonifacio
From the Vaccia hostel, it's just two kilometres to the pass of the same name. You then descend to Aullène, where you can take a break. The route winds through the villages of the Alta Rocca to the Col de Bacino (809 m), before reaching Chera. Finally, you will take the territorial road for the last 10 kilometres to Bonifacio, where our services come to an end.
