Itinerary

Day 1

Ajaccio to Bussaglia

Meet at 14h at Ajaccio Airport, or directly at the base, on the banks of the Prunelli. Welcome and presentation of the trip and preparation of kayaks for the journey. Leave by minibus for the Gulf of Porto, then a warm up 30-minute paddle to reach the beach at Bussaglia. Dinner and overnight in bivouac under the stars on the beach at Bussaglia.

Day 2

Bussaglia- Girolata

Discover the Gulf of Porto in its intimacy, with its sea caves, you follow this unspoilt coast of creeks and sea cliffs to the hamlet of Girolata. Only accessible by the sea or on foot, the hamlet has a sleepy feel once the boats leave for the evening. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac on the beach.

Day 3

Girolata - Scandola - Girolata

Today we discover the Scandola Natural reserve, navigating among the majestic walls of granite. The Scandola Marine Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, protected to preserve the flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight in bivouac on the beach.

Day 4

Girolata - Ficaghjola

We now kayak South, crossing the Gulf of Porto to join the famous beach of Ficaghjola nestled under the sea cliffs of Piana. After the picnic, we head around the coast in the direction of the beach at Arone passing by the majestic Capo Rosso with its high cliffs, an unforgettable journey in the middle of red granite cathedrals. Dinner and overnight in bivouac on the beach.

Day 5

Ficaghjola - Arone

We will travel to the beautiful beach at Arone through the majestic Capo Rosso and the sumptuous Calanques de Piana, an unforgettable journey between red granite cathedrals and caves. Dinner and night in bivouac on the beach of Arone.

Day 6

Arone - Stagnola

We leave the magnificent beach of Arone and follow a jagged coastline that takes us to the to the port of Cargèse, from where we climb up to discover this ancient town where Christian and Orthodox rites coexist. A short sail takes us to the beach, where we spend the night. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac on the beach.

Day 7

Stagnola - Sagone

This last day will take us to the harbour of Sagone for a last Lunch. Short bus transfer to the base and then transfer to Ajaccio airport around 16:30. Holiday ends upon arrival in Ajaccio.

Price includes

Full board in wild camps under the stars, local transfers by minibus, kayak guide, use of kayaking equipment. We will provide you with one-seater sea kayaks or two-seater sea kayaks.

Insurance, 5€/ person reservation fee, extra transfers, drinks.

Insurance

We offer comprehensive multi-risk insurance specifically adapted to our adventure trips (contract no. 7482 Assurinco). The rates are as follows: 4.00% of the price of the trip for French residents, 6% of the price of the trip for residents from the European Union (EU) outside France. For non-EU residents, the rate is €90 per person.

Accommodation

Bivouac under the stars (tents provided in times of bad weather).
Please note there are very limited facilities and the camping is wild, no showers or toilets on this route, you will need a salt water soap that you can find at ship chandlers.

Continental breakfast, picnics and hot evening meals prepared together in the evening.

Number of participants

Solo travellers possible. Groups of 6 participants minimum.

Level

Moderate - You must be able to swim at least 25m and be able to put your head under water to undertake this trip. This trip is not suitable for beginners. Participants from 14 years of age, sea kayaking stages of 3 to 5 hours per day.

Guiding

Fully Qualified French Sea Kayak Guide (English speaking). We will do an average of 3 to 5 hours of kayaking a day, accompanied by possible walks to appreciate the area.

Luggage transfers

Your luggage is placed in a waterproof canyon bag and transported in your kayak, take only the bare minimum.
